I was diagnosed with a Stage IV Salivary Gland Tumor in October of 2024 at 36 years old. I underwent a Parotidectomy, along with a reconstructive procedure to build a muscle flap in the absence of my gland, on December 4th of 2024. After successfully healing from that procedure, I went on to receive 33 rounds of Proton Therapy from the Texas Center for Proton Therapy in Irving Texas. The most INCREDIBLE place in the world for cancer-care if I do say so myself.
I currently sit on the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) for Texas Oncology. I did a complete career pivot after my experience and now work for the BaylorScott&White Dallas Foundation driving impact and lasting change in the areas of healthcare and philanthropy.
The last two years have been a bit of a whirlwind but I'm fortunate to still be here, cancer free, and prayerfully making a difference for the survivors, thrivers, and fighters, who share in this journey with me.
